Appendix A - External HTTP Links to GTL

Overview

PACCAR’s dealer community can link to the Global Truck Locator application from any external web site they may have. If a dealer is using PACCAR’s Dealer Templates then the dealer will automatically have a link from their dealer web site to the Global Truck Locator application. This documentation applies only to those dealers hosting their own web sites, or using a third party hosting services other than PACCAR.

The Internet web site for Global Truck Locator is:

The dealer can list truck inventory on their web site by two options. The first is by a specific dealer code. This will list all the trucks in the application for a particular dealer. The second is by PACCAR division. This option will first display a search criteria page, so that the customer can specify what kind of truck they are looking for, since the number of trucks per division has the potential to be quite large.

Listing Dealer’s Inventory

Global Truck Locator continues to support a direct link to a dealer’s truck inventory by a specific dealer code. You cannot enter more than one dealer code at a time on the URL. If a dealer is part of a dealer owner group, you cannot list the truck inventory for the entire owner group, only the individual dealer.

The following URL denotes the proper format for the request. This may be used in any web page:

• http://www.UsedTruckLocator.Com/EN/Public/TruckSearch.asp?DlrCd=annn

Where annn is a PACCAR dealer code.

Examples:

• http://www.UsedTruckLocator.Com/EN/Public/TruckSearch.asp?DlrCd=C520

• http://www.UsedTruckLocator.Com/EN/Public/TruckSearch.asp?DlrCd=A082

These links open a specific inventory list of trucks for the dealers C520 and A082. No search criteria page is displayed, just the search results.

By PACCAR Division

Global Truck Locator continues to support links to list trucks by PACCAR division. You cannot enter more than one division code at a time on the URL. This option will display a search criteria page initially in order for the customer to specify the attributes for the truck they are looking for. The application will then search the truck inventory for the specified division dealers looking for matches based on the customers requested attributes.

The following URL denotes the proper format for the request. This may be used in any web page:

• http://www.UsedTruckLocator.Com/EN/Public/TruckSearch.asp?DivCd=d

Replace the d with a PACCAR division code as follows:

• http://www.UsedTruckLocator.Com/EN/Public/TruckSearch.asp?DivCd=P

These links will open a search criteria page for the divisions of Kenworth and Peterbilt. Any search criteria entered will only search against the specified divisions dealers.
